Macromedia Flash (now Adobe) started in 1996 and has become a massively deployed standard out there. People use Flash to create multimedia content over the web. From games to menus, whenever you right clicked you will often see menus with "About Adobe Flash Player X" item, indicating that it was created using this technology. Even Google's YouTube use it to broadcast video streaming content.

Now I'm trying to analyze grossly on this platform usage, specifically, on the freelance markets. The eLance.com shows that Flash ranked eight on the technology mastered by the providers, 7094. Add this with actionscript skills then you got 8001 providers.

My goals are based on three pillars: spiritual, professional, and social. In other words, I'd like to have peace of mind (here and hereafter), a good income, and help others in need. My constrains are there, my goals are there, and here's an offer: be a (global) freelancer.

Why? First, we are able to select jobs. It is not a permanent boss-subordinate kind of things, if you like it you apply, you don't like it (e.g, create gambling websites, adult websites), don't apply. It gives you peace of mind. There's no chance for a scenario like do this bad thing or I'll fire you. This also mean we work in a varying spectrum of our expertise, giving you satisfaction on what you do. Second, it give you chance to a good rewards. Being a global freelancer means you are competing in global market, based on the demand and supply law, so if you are the only one who knows how to do XYZ language with a library ABC for N years experience, and there's a client desperately need you out there, then you're in luck. The more you learn or master things, the more likely you are able to earn more.

This serves as a good perusal for my third goal, that of social responsibility. There's an abundance of chance given you are ready for that, but many people don't prepare themselves and simply say that the fate decides for them. Or they are pessimistic and having a wrong mindset for themselves. I see education is one of the answer. One key thing for having a better life and society. But what is more important is the will and power to educate people. I see that freelancer may give you the flexibility of hours, thus you can manage to do other things. It may also give you a financial support (in the midst of weakening rupiah currency for example) to realize your vision. Now my prayer to Allah, is to bless me and my family with this website as one of the pillar for a better society.
